Shimona would have turned 14 today (July 7). Noodles would have turned 15 on July 2.
I carry the love and memories of my sweet fur babies in my heart every day. 🐾
Losing them this past year reminded me of a lesson that I have learned many times in my life: Nothing lasts forever, we all die.
Many people see death as a depressing reality that should be avoided, but it is actually the most liberating reality to accept.
Embracing our impermanence and the impermanence of this world is the key to accessing true freedom.
Death is our incentive to live fully now.
Life is constantly changing, and we are constantly changing.
We are here to dance with the currents of change, not to manipulate them and force them to move the way we think they should.
We are here to be present with whatever the current of life brings.
We are here to love ourselves and others through the ups and downs.
Feel all the emotions that move through you.
Let loss and grief open your heart and remind you to love more now. 🩷🩵💜
